Nottingham City Council

As part of their strategic review of Leisure Centre provision in the city, Grey Panther Associates Ltd undertook a critique of a report, produced for the Advice and Scrutiny Committee by Eversheds and the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE). Our critique highlighted a number of potential issues arising from the report, and identified areas requiring much greater consideration before strategic decisions could be taken.

Subsequently, in 2008/9, Grey Panther Associates Ltd were engaged by Nottingham City Council's Community Services, to work with CBF Gymnasiums Ltd - a social enterprise operating a Community Gym in the Highbury Vale area of the City. The brief was to undertake an assessment of the likely sustainability of the project beyond Year 1, and help the organisation to:

·        Develop a 3-year Business Plan for the project;

·        Produce a ‘Making The Case’ document, to support the Business Case and future funding applications;

·        Prepare funding bids for the project.
